NZCS is proud to host the New Zealand Children's Map Competition
Competition Objectives
The objectives of the competition are to promote children’s creative representation of the world, to enhance their cartographic awareness, and to make them more conscious of their environment.
The 1st place winners in each age category (13-15yrs, 9-12yrs, 6-8yrs, under 6 years) will be New Zealand’s entries for the international Barbara Petchenik Children’s Map Competition 2023. This competition will be held in conjunction with the International Cartographic Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, 13-18 August 2023.
The theme for 2023 is: A map of my future world
