Land Information New Zealand

Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand

Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand is connecting geographic information into a national spatial data infrastructure for New Zealand. A spatial data infrastructure can be broadly defined as a network of components that allows people to find, share and use spatial data. This includes topographic maps and nautical charts, property information, and aerial imagery. Most of our information is available for free online in readily reusable formats through the LINZ Data Service. We champion sharing and exchange of public information through the New Zealand Open Government Information and Data Programme and our role in promoting a national infrastructure for geographic information.

The LINZ Vision is accompanied by an Outcomes Framework consisting of four high-level outcomes:

  • High-value geographic and property information
Geographic and property information are used effectively to deliver value for New Zealand.
  • World-class property system
The property system is ready for the future, built for growth and changing needs.
  • Making best use of the Crown Estate
Getting the best public value from the Crown Estate, for the benefit of all New Zealanders.
  • Safeguard New Zealand’s interest in sensitive assets
Ownership of sensitive assets reflects New Zealand’s best interests.

Victoria University of Wellington

Victoria University of Wellington Te Herenga Waka

The Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation is one of the leading providers of innovative education in design and the built environment.

The Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation, Te Wāhanga Waihanga-Hoahoa, combines the School of Architecture and the School of Design Innovation. We are the only university in New Zealand to bring these disciplines into one faculty.

Architects and designers have crucial roles to play in the ways in which we inhabit, change, and adapt to the material world. They are continually challenged by, and challenging, the implications of environmental, social, cultural, and economic change.

We are committed to producing graduates with creative, professional, and technical skills that will enable them to contribute significantly to New Zealand society in an era of rapid global change.

We offer three undergraduate degrees with a choice of seven majors in Design Innovation, four in Architecture, and two in Building Science. We also offer professional accredited degrees in Architecture and Landscape Architecture. With a focus on cross-disciplinary research, our degrees prepare our graduates to take their place as leaders in creative and innovation industries around the world.

Our campus is located in the creative heart of Wellington, just off the vibrant Cuba Street. Sitting alongside industry and government, we are well placed to offer opportunities both to our students and to our partners through research partnerships, internships, and placements.

OSGeo Oceania

OSGeo Oceania

OSGeo Oceania is a volunteer organisation devoted to growing and enabling the Open Source Geospatial and OpenStreetMap communities in Oceania. We welcome participants of all skill levels, from hobbyists to professionals, engaged with mapping across the Oceania region.

Community is at our heart. We run FOSS4G SotM Oceania, the region's annual Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial and State of the Map conference, bringing together developers, mappers, researchers and practitioners for talks, workshops and mapathons. In November 2025 we hosted the international FOSS4G conference in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand.

We champion open source tools and open data, and we reinvest in the people who build them. Our grants programme funds local events, helps members attend conferences through travel grants, and supports special initiatives across the region — with a particular focus on communities in the Pacific

Whether you write code, edit the map, teach, or are simply curious, there's a place for you here.
