SUMMARY:Legends in the Making: Maps for 2020s and Beyond
DESCRIPTION:Maps have always helped us make sense of the world—navigating
  the critical and the everyday\, the physical and the human. Today\, maps 
 are more relevant than ever\, whether revealing the impacts of climate cha
 nge\, supporting humanitarian action\, or simply offering a digital window
  on the world in our pockets. We need maps that inform\, guide\, and inspi
 re—across media\, across contexts\, and across communities.Join us for t
 he fourth State of New Zealand Cartography seminar\, a full-day event expl
 oring the maps we make now and those we need for the future. Following our
  2023 event\, this biennial seminar welcomes perspectives from across the 
 cartographic and geospatial community: maps\, other visual geographic repr
 esentations\, and processes that lead to these maps\, such as cartographic
  design\, data management or GIS-based spatial analysis. Talks can focus o
 n the local\, national and everyday\, through to issues of global signific
 ance.Call for ContributionsWe invite short proposals for seminar presentat
 ions. Please submit a title and brief abstract (up to 300 words) by Friday
 \, 30 May 2025. If selected\, presenters will also be invited to contribut
 e to a post-event publication (at least one page with quality visuals) by
